The Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) is Austria’s largest research and technology organisation. Among the European research institutes, AIT is a specialist in the key infrastructure issues of the future. Over 200 experts at the Center for Digital Safety & Security are developing state-of-the-art information and communication technologies to ensure that our systems are highly secure and reliable in the context of comprehensive digitization and global networking. AIT coordinates the ADEX project.

AVL is the world’s largest privately owned company for development, simulation and testing technology of powertrains (hybrid, combustion engines, transmission, electric drive, batteries and software) for passenger cars, trucks and large engines. AVL was founded in 1948, and has currently more than 10.000 employees, with headquarters located in Graz, Austria, and a global network of about 45 representations and affiliates worldwide. An important branch is development and testing of ADAS and AD functionality (see https://www.avl.com/adas), where AVL develops scenario-based, open verification and validation toolchains for ADAS/AD components, systems and features integrated into customers‘ virtual and real test environments.

Technische Universität Wien (TUW) is one of the most successful technical universities in Europe, and Austria’s largest scientific-technical research and educational institution. It features eight faculties, 50 institutes, 4,783 academic staff, and over 30,000 students. The Faculty of Informatics of TUW comprises about 3.000 students. The Institute for Computer Engineering (ICE) is one of its four computer science institutes. ICE’s research and teaching activities focus on the area of cyber-physical systems, dependable embedded systems, automation systems and parallel computing. Major research areas are hybrid systems, real-time systems, fault-tolerant distributed algorithms, dependable digital circuit architectures, automation systems and parallel computing.
